ALL of the hundreds of Hollywood movies we have deconstructed (see URL below) are based on this 188+ stage template, in fact. Kal Bishop's 188 stage Hero's Journey (Monomyth) is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon.
This is the template you must master if you are to succeed in the craft. Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters.

THERE IS ONLY ONE STORY
TRANSFORMATION
It is the undergoing of the Journey that gives the Hero the capacity to conquer those challenges that were previously unconquerable. The function of which is to stimulate a Psychological Transformation, every Hero goes on a Physical Journey.
In the beginning the Hero is dressed in one way and at the end another. Behaviour and clothing, values, norms, the New Self is demonstrated by a change in attitudes. In the beginning of the Journey the Hero is an Ordinary Self and at the end of it a New Self.
John Dunbar starts the story dressed as a soldier and ends it dressed as an Indian, in Dances with Wolves (1990).
Rita starts off as a hairdresser and ends up a student, in Educating Rita (1983).
Respected lawyer, single Mom and ends up a wealthy, erin starts off as a poor, in Erin Brockovich (2000).

Ali runs through the village and sees images of himself, in Ali (2001). Often with an air of the supernatural about it, a physical movement.
Including: and manifests itself in a number of ways, . . . This is essentially a movement away from the Greater Antagonism.
Identity and money, andy is able to flee with the warden's paperwork, in The Shawshank Redemption (1994). The Hero departs with the Boon in hand. Flee with the Treasure.
Ripley flees to the escape vehicle, in Alien (1979). Distance oneself from the Antagonism.
John goes back to the Fort for his diary, in Dances with Wolves (1990). Doc Ock kidnaps MJ, or a set-up for the eventual pull toward it: In Spiderman 2 (2002). . . .

Andy does not return home but goes to Mexico, in The Shawshank Redemption (1994). Even seemingly unwilling Heroes do not return to the same place - the Journey has given them a new capacity and transformed them into a New Self. Bonnie wakes up afraid that Clyde is not there, in Bonnie and Clyde (1967). Luke never wants to go back to Tattooine, in Star Wars (1977). The Hero - willing and unwilling - often lives in fear of the return to the Ordinary World and the Ordinary Self.
